1. For Ireland Visa is it necessary to go personally for Visa submission OR can any agent or representative can submit on my behalf?
For Ireland VISA, Personal Visit to VFS Center is mandatory. Personal Biometrics has been made compulsory for each applicant, each applicant has to appear in person at VFS Center for Biometrics i.e. to capture his/her Finger prints & Photo with prior appointments & hence Passenger has to appear in person.
2. If I had been issued Ireland Visa earlier still, is it necessary to go for Biometrics again this time as well?
For Ireland visa every time you do a fresh application (Apply for a Visa), it is necessary for applicant to do a Biometrics every time (Simply because you have done Biometrics prior, that does not give you a relief for Biometrics for your current application)
3. Whether Biometrics is necessary for children as well?
For children below 5 years, Biometrics is not required.
4. What is the processing time for Ireland Visa?
Standard processing time for Ireland visa is 15 Working days excluding Saturday and Sundays & day of Biometrics.
5. How many days before I can apply for Ireland visa?
One can apply for Ireland Visa maximum 3 months prior to travel date.
6. Where Ireland Embassy is located? or Where I need to go for Biometrics?
There is only one Ireland Embassy, which is located in New Delhi which issues visas for all PAN India applicants, but VFS Centers are located in many states across the country, you can visit to any nearby VFS Center from your residence/Office.

8. What is the process for collecting passports after the decision has been taken on application?
Here the Applicant has 2 options for collection of passport as below
i) Counter Collection – Applicant can collect the passport by visiting personally to VFS Center where he has submitted his application
ii) Courier Collection – Applicant can opt for Courier facility for delivering his passport at his desired address i.e. either Residence or Office

9. What is BIVS Scheme?
BIVS Scheme is known as British Irish Visa Scheme, where some eligible visa categories issued by either UK or Ireland will allow holder to travel to both countries without a need of having a separate visa for another country. Under this scheme Holder of Irish visa, will not have to take separate Transit visa for UK, if he is transiting through UK as a part of his onward journey to Ireland.
Under this scheme, Applicant will have to travel to country which has issued visa first & then he can can travel to another country.
