Documents required for Nigeria Visa

 

  1. Forms: Online Visa form (Signature should be exactly as per passport)

    Note: for Minor applicants, visa form should be signed by both parents along with Signature or Thumb impression of Minor applicant as appearing on his/her passport.
  2. Passport: Original Passport as well as all old passports

    Please note passport must fulfill all below conditions

    • Passports issued beyond 10 years will not be accepted by the Embassy.
    • Hand written passport is strictly not allowed
    • Indian passports with any “observation” will not be accepted.
    • Passport should have minimum 2 blank pages & should be valid for a period of 6 months from the date of travel
  3. Photographs: Four recent colored photographs of size 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm white background with matt or semi matt finish with 80?cecoverage, white background and without border. (Photograph should not be more than 3 months old, scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas) view image
  4. Covering Letter: Original Covering Letter from applicant stating his name, designation, passport number, purpose and duration of the visit, duly signed by him (Employed applicants should print it on Normal A4 Paper and Self Employed/Businessman should print it on their letterhead with seal (Rubber stamp) & sign)
  5. Documents to be submitted:
    • A. Financial Documents:
      • If Employed :
        • Original Personal Saving Bank Account Statement for last six months mentioning the Bank’s name, Bank’s Telephone Number, Applicant’s Name and Account No. clearly on Bank letterhead with seal & sign of Bank officer with minimum closing balance equivalent to USD 1000 per person (Sudden deposit of money is not allowed), statement should be updated at least 15 days prior to submission date.
        • Leave sanction letter on Employer’s Letterhead with seal & sign
      • If Self-employed Professional / Businessman
        • Original Personal Saving Bank Account Statement for last six months mentioning the Bank’s name, Bank’s Telephone Number, Applicant’s Name and Account No. clearly on Bank letterhead with seal & sign of Bank officer with minimum closing balance equivalent to USD 1000 per person (Sudden deposit of money is not allowed), statement should be updated at least 15 days prior to submission date.
    • C. Additional Required Documents:
      • Day wise Itinerary
      • Hotel Confirmations
      • Confirmed Return Ticket
  6. In case applicant is sponsored by Sponsored in Nigeria:
    • Original Sponsorship letter from the Nigerian Counterpart requesting the Nigerian High Commission, New Delhi, for an Entry permit visa or taking Immigration responsibility.
    • Copy of National Identity card/ Driver's license/ passport/ Residence permit of the sponsor duly attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Nigeria should be sent to us.
  7. Medical
    • Applicant has to carry an Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) at the time of travel.
    • Applicant should have completed a full course of vaccination against Polio, preferably with Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) and the original certificate has to carry at the time of travel.
      Note: Applicant should receive an additional dose of OPV at least six weeks before each international journey and the Validity of a full course of vaccination will be one year.

2. Is personal presence mandatory for visa submission?

No as of now there is no requirement of personal presence of Applicant for visa submission as there is no Biometrics process implemented by Nigerian Immigration.
But Embassy can call applicant to come for personal interview at its discretion, if embassy seek any additional clarity.

3. What is a standard processing time for Visa?

Standard processing time for Nigeria Visa is 10 to 15 Working Days but in some cases processing time may extend up to 35 to 40 days’ subject to approval.

4. Is it a Direct Consulate submission or submission through VFS?

Nigeria Embassy has appointed OIS agency as authorized Visa partner through which all applications has to be submitted.
